What is The Fit Green?
The Fit Green is an outdoor fitness club whose main goal is to help you get fit, burn fat and have fun. The Fit Green is run by a qualified personal trainer, and is an extension of our love of outdoor training, so you get the quality and fun training you need.
Who can join The Fit Green?
The Fit Green is for anyone who wants to improve their fitness and get results. Whatever your age and fitness level our sessions are designed to be fun and challenging and to push you to YOUR next level.
What kind of intensity can I expect?
Our fitness camps are designed to challenge you, but we tailor it to your needs. We expect you to give 100% effort at all times and participate to your fullest ability. We work in a team setting that offers support and encouragement, but everyone is challenged to their personal fitness level.
What results can I expect?
Lose inches, reduced body fat, build lean muscle mass, improve your endurance, increase your energy, become strong, confident and feel great!
When does The Fit Green run?
We train year round. Our fitness camps stop for nothing! At some point, we might consider an indoor venue due to weather or daylight, however we do endeavour to be outside as much as possible.
Will this kill me?
No. It has not killed anyone yet, and we have been teaching these classes for a very long time. If you die, you will be the first!
What times do you run classes?
At the moment we offer classes at 9:15am on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday. We are looking at adding an evening and an early morning class in the near future. Please stay in touch for updates.
What if I am really unfit?
At all our classes we work with the individual as much as we work with the group. No one gets left behind and no one is expected to work at a pace that puts him or her at risk for injury. Everyone has different strengths and weaknesses. During all classes, whilst we like to push you, we encourage you to listen to your body and if you are finding it difficult at any point you have the option to rest or we can give you an easier alternative exercise.
I hate running, do I have to run?
At The Fit Green we do light jogs for warm up and the occasional running drill to keep your heart rate up. So be ready for cardio drills, but we will not be running long distances.
How do I pay?
You can sign up to The Fit Green online via paypal or in person before the start of the month. We accept cheque or cash. For regulars, we offer a flexible, convenient way to pay for you camp via standing order. You are advised to commit to the camp as early as possible as during busier times spaces may be limited.
What is your refund policy?
Refunds are at our discretion. We offer the opportunity for you to try The Fit Green with our Exclusive Try It Pass so that you know what you are getting yourself into.
Is this class like the military? Will I be yelled at?
No! The Fit Green is nothing like a military-style boot camp at all. We do not wear camo gear, shiny boots or shout at you. We like to have fun and get fit. The sessions will be a challenge, but we cater to all levels of fitness!
What if I cannot make a session?
If you cannot make the session, please call/text the trainer of your fitness camp. You must do this 24hrs in advanced and you will be allowed to carry over your session to another slot that week if you can.
Can I just pay for the workouts individually?
You can do – but it’ll cost you! At The Fit Green we are very different from most classes and gyms in that we want regular and consistent effort from our participants. If you come intermittently you will suffer all the discomfort of starting an exercise program and enjoy none of the results. Therefore we encourage you to commit to a month at a time.
I know I am going to miss some workouts during the month, is it worth me joining?
As a general rule, if it is a week due to a holiday or business trip you will still get the benefit from The Fit Green, nevertheless we still have people who pay the full fee knowing they can only make half the sessions.
What if the weather is bad?
That’s part of the fun of training outside! Our fitness camps still happen in all kinds of weather. Sessions are rarely cancelled – although we do often make some adaptations in extreme conditions. Please make sure you dress for the weather.
Do I have to follow your nutrition plan?
No, although it is recommended to get the best results.
I am coming on my own, what are the other people in the group like?
At The Fit Green we are a friendly at supportive bunch! There are people in the group of all levels, shapes and sizes and we understand it might be a little intimidating for you on your first visit. To put you at ease we will introduce you to some regulars and you will quickly find you make friends. It’s one of the reason this fitness camp is so much fun.
How long are the workouts?
The workouts are 45 minutes. This gives us time to warm up; a challenging 35-minute workout followed by a 5-minute cool down and stretches. Most people arrive 5 minutes before we begin.
What if I don’t know the exercises?
Our instructors are qualified fitness trainers and will coach you in each exercise. If there is one that you can’t do we will give you an alternative.
What do I wear?
Wear normal workout clothes, of course suitable to the conditions on the day! You will need a pair of sturdy trainers and clothes you don’t mind getting a little muddy. On colder days it is advised to bring some gloves and an extra layer.
When can I get started?
Click on the Exclusive Try It Pass and you will have the opportunity to join one of our introductory weeks. If you decide you like it and want to join we can pro rata it so you can keep going for the remainder of the month.
